2011 Novice Championship Scoring Platform>>>1st Place – 5 pts, 2nd Place – 3 pts, 3rd Place – 2 pts….and 1pt to each remaining competitor (driver/co-driver) that completes the event, turns in their score card, & car number. No competitor will receive any points without turning in their completed score cards & car numbers. And for clarification…a “completed score” card includes but is not limited to having the Drivers & Co-drivers name, car number, & class clearly written on their respective score card.
New for this year: Ties for the Novice Championship trophy places will be broken by the following process: The contestant who attended the most rallies, then the most Firsts, then most Seconds.. If a tie still remains, then the contestant with the most Thirds will be the winner. And if there is still a tie …then matching trophies for the tied positions will be awarded. In order to receive an earned trophy…recipients must be present or be represented at the finish of the last event of the year. Also new for 2011: In order to encourage those folk who have entered as a Marque class competitor [March FN] or as a Forum class competitor [April FN] (except those with previous entry as SOP or higher), we are going to award a ‘participation’ point for each of those FN’s that they have participated in. Please see the attached spreadsheet & note that those ‘appearance’ points are in bold & will be converted to normally scored Novice Championship points after enrolling in another NWRC Friday Nighter as a Novice…before Aug , 2011. At which point all ‘participation’ points allocated for March & April will be included in the Novice Championship computations. Thanks to all who have been competing in all classes & I look forward to applying these updates as soon as you register as a Novice. And finally, due to any possible personal scheduling conflicts…a Novice competitor may miss one event in the series & not be penalized. If a competitor enters all of the events, we will drop their worst score…just to be fair.2011 SOP Championship Scoring Platform
The individual Driver & Navigator with the most total points at the end of the NWRC Friday Nighter Series will each win a trophy for their efforts. There will be no “Team” trophy awarded in this Championship. The depth of trophies distributed in this series will be dependent upon the number of qualified entrants….so, the more competitors…..the farther the trophy placements go…. Continuing for this year: We are dropping the requirement to be a member of an NWRC Club and you will not be required to work an event. Instead, SOP Championship competitors who work an event will be granted 10 points, but only for one event. Note: Working and event means not competing in the same event. There will be no mandatory advancement of the SOP Champion into the MASTERS Class. However, once you have won two SOP Championships…you are no longer eligible for winning any further SOP Championships although you may still compete as a SOP’er in the Friday Nighter Series. ~~But keep in mind…you don’t need to be participating in the Championship in order to run as a SOP’er…it’s just not the same when others get trophies at the end of the year for winning the SOP class because they are getting qualified points.
