You have probably guessed already, but the 2020 season will go down as the season that wasn’t. We have been looking at options, but because of the close quarters in the cars and the contact between organizers and competitors, plus the inability to gather at a finish location has side-tracked our ability to put on rally events. At this point, we can only wait to see what happens over the winter. With any luck, Covid 19 will morph into Covid 20 and become harmless. We are also kicking around touchless options. I, for one am being plagued with dreams of rallying and driving on gravel roads. Hopefully, we can resume doing that next year.

TSD road rally is alive and well in Portland, Oregon. Cascade Geargrinders put on nine successful road rallies in 2020, and nine events are planned for 2021.
All events comply with COVID 19 restrictions, requiring no human contact outside of your own car. Online registration with virtual check-in, GPS checkpoints and scoring. and all communication via email so “you stay in your car; we’ll stay in ours.”
Yes, we miss the social aspect of on-site registration and gathering at the end to share stories and ask questions. But we can still go for a drive in the country, playing the game we love, the game that takes us places – TSD road rally.

Yeah, 2020/2021/2022… stunk … with all the restrictions it is tough to sit but as most all of us are in one high risk category or another this is one thing that has very little float
