Still four weeks away, June 13th is the next installment of our NWRC Friday Nighter series.

FOOTZ presents “Just Redux” as a reminder that there are rally roads north of Interstate 90 and not all of them are under construction this year. This rally features many fine roads the drivers will appreciate and some barely-even-notice-they-are-there traps that won’t get you lost.

Will there be HARBINGERS? Of course, these common signs are the mainstay of navigation.

Will there be QUETZELS, KOKO-PELI, or PINE WEASELS? Come see for yourself!

You will encounter NOTEs, ORs, and the occasional RESTART.

The route and instructions are novice friendly.

The rally will use the Richta GPS checkpoint system. Install the Richta Competitor app on your smartphone ahead of time. An introductory guide is here.

Entry fee is $30 per car, cash only. Registration will open at 6:45pm. Drivers meeting at 7:15pm.

Webbed feet are neat, say those who compete.

GREMLINS OF LOST TIME – RALLY RECAP

A small but very enthusiastic group of rallyists challenged The Time Gremlins of the May Rally.  The ODO Check Transit Zone ended on Jones Road at the Classically re-used “No Dumping Sign”.  Checkpoint 2 ended on Lake Youngs Road.  The course then headed South with  Checkpoint 3 and 4 on Pipeline Road.  Checkpoint 4 was a short quickie.  The course then took rallyists to Danville-Georgetown, then on to Kanaskat.  The course turned before the Community of Cumberland on the Enumclaw Franklin “bumpy road” for Checkpoint 5 and 6, with 6 being another quickie.  The course moved on to Krain Corner and then down to the Green River Valley with Checkpoint 7 on the bridge over the Green River.  The last leg skirted in and out of the city limits of Black Diamond, with Checkpoint 8 occurring just before the railroad crossing on Lake Sawyer Road.

The consensus at Pizza was that everyone had a great time.

During the rally Mike Daily (Car 9) sent me a message that there appeared to be an error in calculating the Leg 1 time.  Derris checked the Leg calculations and found the error which was corrected at the finish and leg times were recalculated.

“Stuff Happens”, but we promise to do better next time.  We encourage all of you to bring your friends next month and share the adventure of road rallying!

5/9/25 – NWRC’s May Friday Nighter

Less than two weeks away, the NWRC May 2025 Friday Nighter should be a good time. This one is titled the “Gremlins of Lost Time” and authored by John, our Council president.

All the usual details apply and can be found in the info section of this site.

Registration opens at 6:45pm at the Eastgate Park&Ride (14200 SE Eastgate Way in Bellevue). We meet in the NE corner of the surface lot under the SE 142nd flyover. Driver’s meeting at 7:15pm.

Please note that Eastgate way is closed W of 139th Ave, with a long-term detour in place, connecting Eastgate Way to Richards Road via 139th and Kamber.

Entry fee is $30 per car, cash only.

Please read/review the updated (2025) NWRC General Instructions. Having a printed copy with you may prove to be helpful.

All events in the 2025 Friday Nighter season use the Richta GPS Checkpoint system for scoring. If you are not already familiar with this tool, please read the quick guide. Download the Richta Competitor app (from Apple or Google Play) and install on your iOS or Android device ahead of time.

The May Friday Nighter will end in Four Corners at Farrelli’s Pizza.
