March 2016 Friday Nighter Results

March 11th presented a cool and damp night; what many of us experienced folks consider ideal rally weather. The course meandered its way to the finish in Auburn, with checkpoints scattered along the way. A few folks had some minor problems, but most seemed to have a good time.

Thanks to the crews provided by the individual clubs; Debbie Sjodin and Ardis Dull from ORCA, Mark Nolte and Jim Breazeale from RASC, Mike Workman and Scott Margerum from PSRC, Dave Treen, and of course, Rallymaster John Humphrey and his wife Derris, for supporting this event.

Come back and join us in April, where we will be going North.

March Friday Nighter

It’s the President’s Day weekend, and that means we’re four weeks away from the first rally of the 2016 season, the March Friday Nighter. When we were working up the schedule a few weeks ago, we decided to let the NWRC put on the first rally, so you’ll be seeing teams from the various clubs working the event. The rallymaster will be the NWRC President, John Humphrey, aka, the Evil Rallymaster. Now John has put on his fair share of interesting and challenging traps, but I know for this event his plan is to break you into the new season gently, with a fairly straight forward rally so you all can make sure your equipment is still working. It should be a good time.

Registration for this novice oriented event opens at 6:45 PM at the Eastgate Park & Ride Parking lot in Bellevue (14200 SE Eastgate Way). The drivers meeting is at 7:10 and first car out will be 7:31. The entry fee is $20. We’ve decided to continue the “bring a new team and your entry is free” special for the 2016 season. The rally will finish in the south end, and as soon as that’s reserved, we’ll announce the location.

October Friday Nighter

Friday, Friday, FRIDAY! This coming Friday, October 9th is the last Friday Nighter of the season, the October Friday Nighter, presented by Rainier Auto Sports Club. Mark Nolte is the rallymaster, and he calls it “Insert Rally Name Here”. Mark has been putting on rallies as long as anyone, and usually picks out good roads. Mark says that it is a fun run, with no traps, that heads out North and ends at the Pizza Hut in South Everett. It features a nice collection of curvy roads and will give everyone the opportunity to drive in the dark, and possibly rain. October and November rallies around here are notorious for drawing bad weather and dark conditions, which often adds to the challenge.

Registration for this novice oriented event opens at 6:45 PM at the Eastgate Park and Ride in Bellevue. First Car out is at 7:31. There will be a drivers meeting around 7:10. Come on out and join us for a very enjoyable route and some excellent pizza. Remember that the bring a new team and get free entry offer is still good this month. Bring some friends and get free entry!

Novice and SOP Championships will be decided and awarded on Friday.
