May 25, 2017 By Kelly Smith Leave a Comment

John and Derris Humphrey won the Masters Class via the tie breaker, most legs won.

Thanks to the crews who worked the checkpoints.  Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do this.  Special Thanks to Dave Treen and Vasco DePinna for assembling the trophies.

Raindrop Results

May 10, 2017 By Kelly Smith Leave a Comment

28 Cars made their way down to Chehalis to run the Raindrop Rally on Sunday, 5/7/17.  As is the norm for Raindrop, in spite of the name, Sunday was a beautiful dry sunny day.  Winning score with 12 in the Unlimited class was Pat Biggar and Jack Heppes.  1st Equipped with an excellent score of 28 was Eric Hobbes and Ben Thompson.  1st SOP with a tidy 164 was Scott Margerum and Mike Workman.  1st Novice with an impressive score of 109 was Victor Sung and Yushan Duan.  Congratulations to the winners!  Detailed results are available on the RASC Website:  http://www.rainierautosports.com/events/2017/raindrop/default.htm

April Friday Nighter Results

April 30, 2017 By Kelly Smith Leave a Comment

The rally was a fun run through South Central King County.  We used several familiar, yet amusing roads, including the one lane bridge over the Green River Gorge.  The rally finished at Ferrelli’s Pizza in Maple Valley, where the pizza was good and the room was nice.  A great turnout of 19 cars kicked off the 2017 Rally Season, and the championships are on.  Thanks to John and Derris Humphrey for organizing, and all the folks who worked the rally.  Without them, we couldn’t put these on.

October 2016 Friday Nighter Results

October 25, 2016 By Kelly Smith Leave a Comment

october-2016-resultsOctober’s Friday Nighter by RASC had an interesting collection of roads made more interesting by varying weather conditions.  Rain and wind dominated most of the night.  There were numerous challenges for many, and the scores reflect that.  Leg 2 was thrown.  There is more discussion of that on Rainier’s website:  http://www.rainierautosports.com/events/2016/fridayniter/default.htm

Whether you think it should have been or not, it was.  It did have some effect on the outcome, particularly in the SOP class.  We made it NWRC policy many years ago that decisions made the night of the event were final, so the result stand as published here.  Congratulations to Marvin Weaver and Jack Heppes who both nailed down the SOP Championship for Driver and Navigator Respectively (although they are not part of the same team.  Congratulations to Aaron and Annette Nelson, who survived their worst night of the season to collect the Novice Championship and move up to SOP for next season.

It was a fun year!  We’ll start making plans for 2017 and announce them in February.  Have a great off-season, and we look forward to seeing you in the Spring!
