October’s Friday Nighter by RASC had an interesting collection of roads made more interesting by varying weather conditions. Rain and wind dominated most of the night. There were numerous challenges for many, and the scores reflect that. Leg 2 was thrown. There is more discussion of that on Rainier’s website: http://www.rainierautosports.com/events/2016/fridayniter/default.htm
Whether you think it should have been or not, it was. It did have some effect on the outcome, particularly in the SOP class. We made it NWRC policy many years ago that decisions made the night of the event were final, so the result stand as published here. Congratulations to Marvin Weaver and Jack Heppes who both nailed down the SOP Championship for Driver and Navigator Respectively (although they are not part of the same team. Congratulations to Aaron and Annette Nelson, who survived their worst night of the season to collect the Novice Championship and move up to SOP for next season.
It was a fun year! We’ll start making plans for 2017 and announce them in February. Have a great off-season, and we look forward to seeing you in the Spring!
