One month away, the NWRC 2026 season continues with a Friday Nighter called If It Looks Like A Duck on June the 12th, hosted by FOOTZ.

This will be a novice friendly event winding throughout Rally Valley.

Start location: NE corner of Eastgate Park & Ride @ 14200 SE Eastgate Way in Bellevue.

Start time: Registration opens at 6:45pm, first car out at 7:31pm.

The event uses the Richta GPS checkpoint system and runs under NWRC General Instructions.

Summer Plans?

May 13, 2026 By Mike Daily Leave a Comment

It’s never too soon to be thinking about a rally in July. NWRC is trying new things in an effort to draw more people into the TSD sport. One of those things is hosting some events on Saturdays, instead of the traditional all Friday Nighter schedule.

July 11th will be our first Saturday event of the 2026 season. Please join us for Quo Vadis II penned by guest rallymaster Barry Sharp.

Here is what Barry has told us so far:

The rally is about 160 miles long. Novice friendly while still challenging for more experienced competitors. Great roads and Northwest scenery, with views of the N. Cascade mountains. Event will use passage controls (meaning cars do not stop at checkpoints) similar to Raindrop.

The rally runs north into and around southern Snohomish County. A mid-point rest stop is provided, and a final meeting place in Woodinville’s Red Robin allow competitors to mingle, review the event, announcing scores, and awarding prizes.

Driver and Navigator, an iOS/Android phone/Tablet is required to receive rally checkpoint data during the event. Download the Richta GPS checkpoint system Competitor app beforehand. If you are unfamiliar with the app, there is an introductory guide here.

The rally will use the NWRC General Instructions (rules) found here. The entry fee is $30, cash only at the start. The event begins at the Eastgate Park & Ride at 14200 SE Eastgate Way in Bellevue, WA 98007. Registration will open at 9:30am, with first car out at 11:01am.

2026 Championship Standings

rules

The May event (Raindrop) did not have a separate class for Masters. Results in the SOP class were allocated between SOP and MAS and finish order points adjusted to match. Those points are in blue.

Worker points earned are in green.

Dodging Done!

Dodging Beasts Rally Summary

First, thanks to all the rallyists who showed up for the first rally of the year.  I hope that all of you enjoyed the event and will participate in future rallies.  And, if you have friends that you think would enjoy Time-Speed-Distance road rallies, please invite them to attend the next rally with you.

Second, an observation.  For the first time in my 43 years of rallying, women rallyists outnumbered male rallyists on an NWRC road rally!!  I would like to thank Karisa Haydon for inviting her Rebelle Rally posse to run the rally.  And, the posse invited four additional friends to run the rally with them.

The rally headed east, then south –

Checkpoint 1 in Maple Valley
Checkpoint 2 in Ravensdale
Checkpoint 3 in the middle of nowhere
Checkpoint 4 outside of Flaming Geyser State Park
Checkpoint 5 in Auburn

I want to recognize and thank the following people who helped with the rally tonight:

Derris Humphrey – Rally measurement, checkout, registration, Richta IT support & scoring

Mike Daily – Dash Plaque and Trophy design and build

Dave Treen – Delivery of Rally support box and emergency markers

Theresa Barker – Rally Checkout.  Note:  Theresa was a member of a Rally club in the late 1980’s whose club membership was largely Microsoft employees called “SHARC” (AKA – Software Hacker’s Auto Rally Club).  She is planning on returning to compete on future NWRC rallies.

Last, the name of this rally is “Dodging Beasts”.  Potentially, rallyists could have seen deer, elk, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, possums, black bears, bobcats and low flying owls hunting.  Or, perhaps  more beasts such as sasquatch, chupacabra, dogman or jackalope?  Let me know!
