John Humphrey was the rally master of this event. There were no traps, so it was a pretty easy run. A sign that was used twice on leg 3 went down between the checkout and the rally, so we had to use a course marker for it. Unfortunately, because it was in the middle of construction area with lots of cones and warning signs, it was hard to pick out. It unfairly penalized at least four cars, so we threw the leg. The rest of the rally went off pretty much without a hitch. It was a beautiful night and a fun rally. Thanks to Debbie Sjodin, Mike Workman and Dave Treen for working the rally. Thanks to Mike Daily and Charles Aggenbach for working the start control. Without workers, these rallies could never happen. And thank you all for attending.
May 2019 Friday Nighter
Friday, May 10th brings the next installment of this year’s rally season. The NWRC is putting on this with workers for a combination of clubs. The rallymaster is John Humphrey. John designed a nifty little course that meanders south of I-90 ending at Farrelli.s Pizza in Maple Valley. https://farrellispizza.com/locations/farrellis-maple-valley-wa/ The course has interesting roads and no traps. This will be a good time to hone your average speed skills!
Registration for this novice oriented event opens at 6:45 PM at the Eastgate Park & Ride Parking lot in Bellevue (14200 SE Eastgate Way). The drivers meeting is at 7:10 and first car out will be 7:31. The entry fee is $20. Don’t forget that we’re running the “bring a new team and your entry is free” special. Come on out and join us for a good time, and bring your friends!
April 2019 Friday Nighter Results
Thank you to Kathy and Bob Sacry for putting together the rally. It had an entertaining group of roads, spiced with some relatively easy traps. Just what we needed for the first rally of the year. Thanks to Pat Biggar and Rick Ross, Steve Roberts and Don Gibson, Debbie Sjodin and Ardis Dull and Jack Heppes and Gary Coon for working the event. Without these folks, rallies like this would not be possible. Come and see us next month, when NWRC puts on the next Friday Nighter. And don’t forget about the Raindrop Rally on May 5th. It has no traps and is always a fun run. https://www.rainierautosports.com/events/2019/raindrop/default.htm
April 2019 Friday Nighter
Friday, April 12, 2019
Here we go, kicking off another rally season! The first rally of the season is presented by ORCA. Here is what they say about their rally:
ORCA is putting on the first Friday Night Rally of the season, April 12th. The Rally Master team is Kathy and Dave Sacry. They have been rallying since 2006 and have written rallies since 2009. This rally, “Circle in a Circle II”, is based off of the original rally with more traps. The checkout is complete and 3 crews said the “rally was fun!”
Yes there are traps for the experienced rallists to add to the fun, be sure to brush up on your generals. If you are a Novice, there are separate instructions that avoids those traps, should help keep you on course, and should make it fun for you too.
It sounds like fun for everyone! The rally finishes at Brava Pizza and Pasta, 120 Glen Ave in Snohomish. Come on out and join us for a good time, and bring your friends!
