TSD Rally Home of the Pacific Northwest
October 11, 2019
Friday, Friday, FRIDAY!
This Friday, October 11, we will wrap up the 2019 NWRC Rally Season with the October Friday Nighter presented by Rainier Auto Sports Club. Charles Aggenbach is the rallymaster and here is what he said about the event:
Route Master Rod Johnson has refreshed his novice friendly “Ghouls and Goblins” TSD for 2019 and left it in the hands of Rally Master Charles Aggenbach and the rest of the Rainier Auto Sports Club to execute. As before it will be “A Basic Friday Nighter to end the season”. Teams will have to be on their toes as scores are likely to be low and competition tight. We’ll start at the Eastgate Park & Ride at 14200 SE Eastgate Way in Bellevue like normal. Registration opens at 6:45 PM and the Driver’s Meeting is scheduled for 7:10 PM. First car is out at 7:31 PM. The cost is $20 per car with NWRC’s “bring a new team and you (or them) get a free entry” promotion available. Competitors will meander towards the south ultimately ending at Athens Pizza & Pasta at 959 East Main Street in Auburn about 2 to 2.5 hours later. Menu available at https://www.athenspizzaauburn.com/.
Heading south, ending in Auburn. Sounds like a good time to me! This rally will be entirely in the dark, so be sure to bring a light to read with.
We will be awarding the NWRC Championship Trophies after the event. If you are in line to get one, please attend! If you aren’t in line to get one, attend anyway. We are going to have some fun!
It’s Nor’wester weekend, and we are a week away from the September Friday Nighter on the 13th. Debbie Sjodin is the rallymaster for this event, which is named “Are You Protected”? The tongue-in-cheek title is referring, of course, to section 3.1.3 in the General Instructions, PROTECTION. Debbie said that they picked a bunch of fun roads that just happen to have some opportunities to use the PROTECTION order of precedence, so they decided to make that the theme of the event. We are all hoping the everyone will have a thorough understanding of the concept by the end of the event. The roads will be entertaining. We’re going North where we have explored a good number of roads in the past. The finish is at Brava Pizza and Pasta, 120 Glen Ave #2954, in Snohomish, (360) 862-0900.
Registration for this novice-oriented event opens at 6:45 PM at the Eastgate Park & Ride Parking lot in Bellevue (14200 SE Eastgate Way). The drivers meeting is at 7:10 and first car out will be 7:31. The entry fee is $20. Don’t forget that we’re running the “bring a new team and your entry is free” special. Come on out and join us for a good time. Bring your friends!
