A small but enthusiastic group of Rallyists participated in the April 2024 Friday Nighter Rally. The course worked its way from the Eastgate Park-n-Ride down to Maple Valley, Kanasket, the Green River Gorge, Black Diamond, the Krain corner area, back to Black Diamond and the finish in Maple Valley. The Rally Gods continued to annoy me. On Checkout, the rally route into Black Diamond was closed due to a tree which fell across the road and took out the powerlines (Fire Truck and Police Cars with all lights shining.) At least this did not happen on Rally Night. This first of the year rally included some traps typically found in John Humphrey rallies. As one rallyist stated, it was a good rally to get out the cobwebs of Winter.
Everyone had a good time. The post-Rally gathering was pleasantly intimate and included great discussions about the early days of gathering at the Puget Power site in Bellevue. Special thanks to Mike Daily, NWRC VP, for his assistance in measuring the course, rally checkout, Richta application support, Sweep and Trophies/Dash Plaques. Thanks also go to Charles Aggenbach for rally checkout support and Derris Humphrey, NWRC Secretary, for TSD calculation support, registration, Richta monitoring during the event and other tasks as required to make the rally a success. Fortunately we had more rallyists than Rally workers!! Hopefully we will have a larger field for the May Friday Nighter. The May event will be hosted by PSRC, Rally Master Dave Treen.

**Later realization that one of the changes in the updated Generals lowered the maximum penalty at a checkpoint to 60 points means car #3 actually scored 261 points, not the 744 shown above.
