On Friday, June 9th, NWRC presents the June Friday Nighter, “The Peanut Fairy Rides Again.” The Peanut Fairy roams the roads and trails in our area, distributing peanuts for squirrels, crows, raccoons and possums, and any other critters that will eat them. This rally endeavors to follow the path of the Peanut Fairy from Issaquah to Snohomish. Since we are within two weeks of the Summer Solstice, we should have daylight for most of the rally. On the checkout, last Friday, we encountered a cow at one of the checkpoints that was looking at us like we should be giving out peanuts. I consider that fair evidence that we were on the correct route. The good news is, the Peanut Fairy will not be bothering you in your car, like the Phantom Bantam and others have done in the past. Bigfoot sightings should still be reported, but we are not technically looking for them this trip. The checkout went pretty well, uncovering a couple of missing signs, all of which has been corrected. You should have a good time on this event and we expect to see some pretty good scores.
Registration for this novice oriented event opens at 6:45 PM at the Eastgate Park & Ride Parking lot in Bellevue (14200 SE Eastgate Way). The drivers meeting is at 7:10 and first car out will be 7:31. The entry fee is $20. The “bring a new team and your entry is free” special continues, so invite some friends and enjoy free entry.
Come on out and join us, and bring your friends!
