Two Weeks Away, Most Certainly.

June 2, 2024 By Mike Daily Leave a Comment

A reminder that the next Friday Nighter in the NWRC 2024 season is just under two weeks out.

June 14th, NWRC presents “Are You Sure?“

Entry fee is $30, cash only.

Start location is the NE corner of Eastgate Park&Ride at 14300 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue, WA.

Schedule remains the same as always – registration opens at 6:45pm, car zero departs at 7:30.

This event will end in Covington.

It will use Richta GPS checkpoints. If you haven’t used this system previously, read up on it here.

NWRC revised the General Instructions (rules) during the off-season so supplemental rules are no longer necessary to use Richta checkpoints. Get the new rulebook.

It’s 4 Weeks Away – Are You Sure?

May 17, 2024 By Mike Daily Leave a Comment

Our next Friday Nighter will be on June 14th.  This event is presented by NWRC and written by veteran rally master Greg Hightower, we will once again venture into the South King County area with a finish in Covington.  This rally is Novice friendly but will contain a little spice and leave you asking “Are You Sure?“

The rally start is our usual Friday Nighter starting location at the Eastgate Park&Ride.  Registration opens at 6:45pm.  The Entry Fee is $30 (cash only) per car. This event uses Richta GPS checkpoints, so you’ll need an iOS/Android device with the Richta Competitor app installed and working.  If you haven’t used the Competitor app previously, please check out the Quick Reference Guide.  Don’t forget we updated the rulebook in the offseason, so grab the new edition.

Why Yes, Jones Road.

Now in the rearview mirror.

Seven teams turned out for the May Friday, “Why Not Jones Road“. One team suffered technical difficulty and withdrew from the event. Despite the threat of traffic disruption from a Presidential visit that evening, the rally did not encounter any. Initial scores looked a bit off due to not accounting for time at checkpoints but that was quickly corrected. Scores shown below are final and as announced at the finish though they may be different than what teams saw on their devices.

A review from one participant –

“This was a really fun rally to be on. Very straight forward and truly excellent for honing the TSD skills for all classes.”

Thank you to rallymaster Dave Treen plus workers Kevin Mullins and Jack Heppes.

Join us again on June 14th for the next event in the NWRC 2024 Friday Nighter series.

2024 Is Here

And Happy New Year to you!

The NWRC annual planning meeting was held earlier today and there is news to share.

Our Friday Nighter series will have six rallies (April-October, skipping August) with Novice and SOP class Championships.

Also on the schedule are Rainier’s Raindrop and No Alibi touring rallies. Raindrop is always a nice Sunday drive. This year return rallymaster Bill plans to start in Duvall and finish in Stanwood. No Alibi (held on alternate years from Norwester) is a two-day romp using many fine paved and unpaved roads. Rallymasters Ed and Marvin plan for NA2024 headquarters to be Pendleton, OR.

2024 Calendar

With the schedule nailed down, we moved on to a review of Council accounting (we’re solvent). Friday Nighter entry fee will remain at $30 per car.

Before voting on the proposed rule changes, we discussed ORCA’s concern regarding the historical use of the term premarker in the rally community being substantially different from the signage proposed to be identified by this term. To resolve this concern the group selected another term. With that adjustment, the proposed changes were adopted by unanimous vote of all clubs present.

Updated NWRC General Instructions.

All 2023 board members were willing to continuing serving in 2024 and no new volunteers or nominations were made. The existing board members were retained by unanimous vote.

See you on the road!
